The award is given annually to one member of the international society who provides outstanding service for patients with spinal deformities.
Dr. Rinella is receiving the humanitarian award for his work with SpineHope, a non-profit organization he co-founded that performs global outreach to indigent children with complex spinal deformities in South America. SpineHope partners with South American physicians to provide modern treatment to children with complex spine problems.
