Dr. Andrew Sloan honored for neurosurgery contributions: 7 highlights

Marquis Who’s Who recognized Andrew E. Sloan, MD, for his neurosurgery career, according to The Daily Telescope.

1. Dr. Sloan was on the front lines of developing brain tumor immunotherapy as well as Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy.

 

2. He researches brain tumors, convection-enhanced delivery, gamma knife and cyberknife stereotactic radiosurgery, image-guided neurosurgery, neurosurgery, skull-base surgery, stereotactic surgery and tumor vaccines.

 

3. Dr. Sloan is a professor and vice chair of neurological surgery at Cleveland-based Case Western Reserve University.

 

4. He also founded a company for brain tumor surgery simulations.

 

5. Dr. Sloan was a former president of the Ohio State Neurological Society.

 

6. He competed a neurosurgery fellowship at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

 

7. Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes award those based on “position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field,” The Daily Telescope reports.
