Dr. Amir Makoui Performs Minimally Invasive Sacroiliac Joint Fusion

Amir Makoui, MD, a neurosurgeon at The Center of Excellence for Spine and Orthopedic Surgery at Mission Community Hospital in San Fernando, Calif., has performed a minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion procedure, one of the first in the San Fernando Valley region.

Dr. Makoui performed the minimally invasive procedure on a 73 year-old patient. The minimally invasive SI joint fusion was performed through a small incision without damaging soft tissue and minimal tendon irritation.
