Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory also designated May 8, 2013 as “Dr. Alvin Crawford Day” in the city. Dr. Crawford recently retired from the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center after heading the department of orthopedics for 29 years. The hospital opened the first pediatric center for complex cervical spine deformities.
Dr. Crawford previously served as president of the Scoliosis Research Society and has been president of the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society.
