Dr. Butler comes to Lenox Hill Orthopaedic Institute from a spine fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, he told Becker’s in an Oct. 21 email. His clinical work and research will center the advancement of minimally invasive surgery and innovation.

Dr. Butler’s hiring comes as Frank Schwab, MD, reached one year as chair of orthopedics at Lenox Hill Hospital and system chief of spine surgery at Northwell Health.

“There are obviously a lot of phenomenal institutions in New York, though the opportunity to join Lenox Hill and Northwell was too exciting to ignore,” Dr. Butler said in an email.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
