Aaron Creek, MD, performed the first U.S. case using Captiva Spine’s WatchTower navigation powered by Mirra, according to an April 20 news release.

The system uses Mirra to automate 2D-to-3D registration using pre-op CT and C-arm scans. This eliminates the need for intraoperative CT imaging, improving its adoptability.

“Mirra is a breakthrough solution,” Dr. Creek said in the release. “I’ve completed over 250 cases with the WatchTower Spine Navigation System and have firsthand experience with other spine navigation systems. WatchTower has become my go-to platform. WatchTower, powered by MIRRA, is simple and intuitive, adding a new level of reliability and efficiency I know my peers will appreciate.”

The Mirra updates will be initiated for WatchTower system customers in mid-2026.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
