Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Fla., is the first hospital in the state to add Medtronic’s Stealth AXiS system.
Lloyd Zucker, MD, performed the first case with the robot, according to a June 1 news release shared in South Florida Hospital News. Stealth AXiS uses LiveAlign technology that offers real-time visibility into vertebral motion.
“The ability to visualize spinal movement in real time while staying within our normal workflow is a meaningful advancement,” Dr. Zucker said in the release. “The Stealth AXiS system is another tool we can utilize to give our patients an opportunity to heal and return to doing what they love sooner by utilizing some of the latest technology to help lessen pain, make recovery quicker and improve outcomes.”
