The TOPS procedure is an alternative to spinal fusion for patients with stenosis, spondylolisthesis and related spine conditions. Dr. Marcus performed the state’s first TOPS case in September, Danbury-based Nuvance Health said in an Oct. 5 news release.
His 61-year-old patient’s leg pain was gone after the surgery, and he is recovering well about a month later, the release said.
