All criminal charges against Kingsley Chin, MD, and his company SpineFrontier were dismissed.

The move stems from a 2016 case after three whistleblowers triggered a civil inquiry into Dr. Chin and the company, and that matter was resolved in November 2023, according to a May 30 news release from the venture arm of Dr. Chin’s investment company.

Then in 2021 a separate criminal investigation was launched by the Department of Justice. Earlier this year charges against the company were formally dismissed and by May the DOJ moved to dismiss remaining charges against Dr. Chin.

Dr. Chin is a professor and spine surgeon who pioneered Less Exposure Spine Surgery philosophy.
