Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro to have spine surgery

U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro is scheduled to have surgery for spinal stenosis Aug. 11, her office said.

Neurosurgeon Judith Gorelick, MD, is expected to perform the surgery at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn., according to a news release.

Rep. DeLauro will have physical therapy after surgery and is expected to return to Washington, D.C. when Congress reconvenes in September.
