Indianapolis-based Community Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s gold seal of approval for advanced certification in spine surgery.
The certification is offered in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and recognizes systems based on several factors, including presurgical consultations; intraoperative, hospitalization or ambulatory surgery center admission; rehabilitation activities and the follow-up visit with a surgeon, according to a June 11 news release published by Building Indiana Business.
To earn the certification, systems undergo an on-site review in which they are evaluated on clinical information management, program management and clinical care. The hospital first earned Joint Commission accreditation in 2015.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
