Durango, Colo.-based CommonSpirit Mercy Hospital has added the Joimax endoscopic spine system, a minimally invasive surgical option.
The technique allows surgeons to treat herniated discs through a small incision using a high-definition scope and micro-instruments. Patients typically experience less postoperative pain, reduced infection risk and shorter hospital stays, with many returning home the same day, according to a Dec. 1 system news release.
The new technology is designed to minimize blood loss, decrease opioid reliance and speed recovery time.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
