The agency projects overall reimbursement for orthopedic and neurosurgeons will remain flat compared to 2023, according to a report from the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery. ISASS noted in a Dec. 7 letter that policy and individual service charge changes will be “roughly balancing out.”

CMS also finalized plans to withdraw appropriate use criteria program regulations, a decision ISASS supports.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
