Vinod Muniswamy, MD, performed Kentucky’s first case using the MaxMoreSpine endoscopic system, Georgetown-based CenterPoint Health said in a May 22 news release.
Dr. Muniswamy performed an endoscopic discectomy and endoscopic rhizotomy using the system. It is designed to address contained lumbar disc herniations, bulging discs, annular fissures, degenerative disc disease and disc-related pain.
“Many patients with chronic back or leg pain are looking for treatment options that can help relieve symptoms without the recovery associated with traditional spine surgery,” Dr. Muniswamy said in the release. “This new technology allows us to precisely target painful or damaged areas while utilizing a minimally invasive technique that may help patients recover more quickly and return to daily activities sooner.”
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
