The procedure consists of laser annuloplasty, suturing the tear and injecting the patient with stem cells to encourage healing and disc regeneration. The microdiscectomy is an outpatient procedure performed through an incision that is less than one inch and has a 90 percent success rate.

Dr. Flood also uses RegenaDISC, a disc repair therapy, on the appropriate patients with herniated discs or degenerative disc diseases.
