Four details:
1. The center is exploring the safety and efficacy of the prodisc Vivo and SK for the treatment of two-level cervical disc disease.
2. The Mobi-C disc will be used as the control in the study. For every two patients who receive a prodisc C or SK, a third will receive a Mobic-C disc.
3. The Synergy Disc trial could be a better suited option for patients requiring a single-level disc replacement, according to a May 21 news release. Patients who already have had a cervical disc replacement at one level can participate in the Synergy trial.
4. The Synergy Disc, designed by neurosurgeon Neil Duggal, MD, is intended for the reconstruction of a disc between C3-C7 after a single discectomy.
