CAE Healthcare to distribute NeuroVR neurosurgery simulator: 5 points

Sarasota, Fla.-based CAE Healthcare has exclusive rights to sell the NeuroVR globally.

Here are five points:

 

1. The National Research Council of Canada headed the development of the NeuroVR, a neurosurgery simulator that provides a realistic training environment for open cranial and endoscopic brain surgery procedures.

 

2. The simulator involves 37 training modules, touching on instrument handling, endoscopy for cranial procedures as well as skills like tumor resection, tumor debulking and hemostasis.

 

3. CAE Healthcare will work with NRC to develop more training modules.

 

4. The simulator measures performance metrics and could be used as an assessment tool.
