Brainlab earned FDA 510(k) clearance and launched its Spine Mixed Reality Navigation system, the company said Sept. 18.
Brainlab’s system is designed to support pedicle screw placement in minimally invasive cases based on pre- or intraoperative surgical plans, according to a news release. It uses a headset to project information into the sterile field.
“Since my first introduction to Spine Mixed Reality Navigation at the Brainlab Usability Summit cadaver lab, I’ve been eager to work closely with them on their solution,” Jason Pittman, MD, PhD, who provided clinical feedback during the system’s development, said in the release.
