Dr. Carlson is a managing partner of Orthopaedic and Spine Center in Newport News. In his new role, he will work with the medical staff and administrative team to ensure continued high quality care.
Dr. Carlson earned his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed his residency at Harvard University in Boston. His additional training includes fellowships in orthopedic trauma surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and spine surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both in Boston.
During his career, Dr. Carlson performed one of the first anterior cervical disc fusions in an ambulatory surgery center in the region and continues leading efforts on bringing computer-assisted knee replacement technology to the area.
