Adena Orthopedic and Spine Institute is now offering the TELIGEN system for spinal surgeries, according to a Nov. 6 news release from Adena Health.
Here are five things to know:
- Blake Walker, MD, a neurosurgeon with Adena, was among the first in Ohio to use the TELIGEN system.
- The system can be utilized during spine procedures to provide relief of back and leg pain.
- A miniature camera attached to a flexible wire is inserted into a small incision, which gives the surgeon a better, clearer view of the spine.
- The approach is less invasive, is more precise and shortens recovery time compared to traditional spine surgery, according to Dr. Walker.
- Adena Orthopedic and Spine Institute recently earned a renewal of its advanced certification in spine surgery from The Joint Commission, making it one of two facilities in Ohio with the designation.
