Five things to know:
1. Dr. Haid co-founded Atlanta Brain and Spine Care in 2003 and is former medical director of the spine center at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
2. He holds more than 20 patents on spinal technology, including the first artificial cervical disc cleared by the FDA, according to an April 29 news release.
3. Dr. Haid has served on the editorial boards of several leading journals, including Spine, Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurosurgery-Spine and The Spine Journal.
4. In 1988, he completed a neurosurgical fellowship with Joseph Paroon, MD, at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
5. Dr. Haid is joined on the AANS Executive Committee by past president John Wilson, MD; president-elect Ann Stroink, MD; vice president Jacques Morcos, MD; secretary E. Antonio Chiocca, MD, PhD; and treasurer Anthony Asher, MD.
