Anthony Asher, MD, was named president, according to an April 24 news release. He is a member of Carolina NeuroSurgery & Spine Associates in Greensboro, N.C. where he specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, neuro-oncology, skull-base surgery, stereotactic surgery and trigeminal neuralgia. He served in multiple leadership positions in the past including president of the Cogress of Neurosurgeons.
John Knightly, MD, was named vice president. He is a neurosurgeon with a subspecialty interest in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery. Dr. Knightly previously served as chair of the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Disorders of Spine and Peripheral Nerves and served on other committees.
