AANS names Dr. Deborah Benzil vice president — 4 key points

The American Association of Neurological Surgeons named Deborah L. Benzil, MD, vice president.

1. Dr. Benzil serves on the faculty of the neurosurgery department at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. She is also a part of the Mount Kisco (N.Y.) Medical Group.

 

2.  She is the immediate past chair of the Council of State Neurosurgical Surgeons.

 

3. She is well-known for her work in spine stereotactic radiosurgery, and led the team that introduced one of the first comprehensive Spine Stereotactic Radiosurgery Programs in the world.

 

4. Dr. Benzil completed her neurosurgical residency at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
