$8.3M raised for spine research at 2020 Barrow Grand Ball

The Women’s Board of the Barrow Neurological Foundation raised a record $8.3 million at the 2020 Barrow Grand Ball on Jan. 18, reports the Daily Independent.

The funds will go to the Sonntag Spine Center — spearheaded by Juan Uribe, MD — at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix for spine research and innovation.

Barrow will also use some of the funding to continue research efforts for spinal disorders, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, brain aneurysms, brain tumors and stroke.

In 2019, the Women’s Board raised $5.2 million for Barrow, according to its website.
