Orthopedic spine surgeon Fady Hijji, MD, performs the procedure at NAO, where he recently completed his third such surgery.

The minimally invasive procedure is only offered at “a handful of specialized medical centers,” according to the report.

The endoscopic surgery leads to less muscle trauma, faster recovery times and reduced post-operative pain.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
