The American Association of Neurological Surgeons will partner with Oxford University Press to publish its six Journal of Neurosurgery Publishing Group journals, which will go fully digital Jan. 1, 2027.

Oxford University Press will provide publishing, production, technology and distribution services for the journals. The association will retain strategic oversight of the publishing enterprise, while the journals’ editors-in-chief and editorial boards will continue to make editorial decisions independently, according to an Oct. 6 news release.

The six journals are Journal of Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine, Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics, Neurosurgical Focus, Neurosurgical Focus: Video and Journal of Neurosurgery: Case Lessons. Print editions will end with the December 2026 issue.

Subscribers will work with Oxford University Press, which is adding options including Read and Publish.

Association members will continue to receive electronic access as a membership benefit. The journals’ digital archive will also remain available.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
