Spine surgery solutions provider Spine Wave has entered into a long-term collaboration agreement with eCential Robotics, a medtech company designing and producing a platform for robotics, surgical navigation and robotic imaging.
The collaboration will include development, marketing and commercialization to enhance robotic spine surgery applications, according to an Oct. 16 press release.
eCential's open surgical platform is focused on providing optimized robotics solutions for bone surgery and is aiming to become an operating room standard for all neuro-musculoskeletal procedures.
Spine Wave's Salvo Spine system addresses most thoracolumbar fixation procedures with an advanced modular screw design, enhancing versatility and visibility within the surgical field, creating less invasive procedures.
The collaboration aims to integrate eCential Robotics' open surgical platform with Spine Wave's thoracolumbar fixation products, including the Salvo 5.5/6.0mm Spine System in open and MIS configuration. Other Spine Wave products are also being considered for integration.
