5 spine surgeon moves in April

Banner Health and Hoag are among the places that promoted spine surgeons or added new physicians.

1. Ali Baaj, MD, was named systemwide chief of spine surgery at Phoenix-based Banner Health.

2. C. Rory Goodwin, MD, PhD, was named director of spine services at Duke Center for Brain and Spine Metastasis in Durham, N.C.

3. Adam Kanter, MD, was named executive medical director of Hoag’s Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute in Newport Beach, Calif.

4. Geneva (N.Y.) General Hospital added neurosurgeon Lucas Aurich, MD, to its medical staff. 

5. Spine surgeon Adam Schell, MD, joined Omaha-based Nebraska Spine + Pain Center and began working there April 1.
