Dr. Argires specialized in triage, trauma, intracranial surgery and spinal surgery.
He served on the board of directors at Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital for 26 years and as chairman of the surgical department.
He won the Outstanding Service Award from the American Trauma Society and the Distinguished Honor Award from Rotary International among others.
Dr. Argires earned his medical degree at the University of Alabama Medical School in Birmingham. Following medical school, he completed a neurology residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a neurosurgery residency at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
He was a member of several organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, the Mid-Atlantic Neurological Society and the Pennsylvania Neurological Society, where he served as president.
