1. Dr. Shah is an assistant professor of pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He is one of eight pediatric neurosurgeons in the Houston area, which has a population of over 6 million.
2. Dr. Shah received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He underwent fellowship training neurosurgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital of Washington University in St. Louis and fellowship training in pediatric neurosurgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
3. There are no pediatric neurosurgeons in Haiti. Dr. Shah began making the trips in 2011 after a 2010 earthquake devastated Haiti.
