Spine surgeon Ian Madom, MD, of Ortho Rhode Island in East Greenwich, has opened an office for his startup MyMOC, which is focusing on tackling physician burnout with its MOCingbird app. The app aims to save providers time by managing Maintenance of Certification and Continuing Medical Education requirements and allowing them to take courses on mobile devices.

CYRx MD Skincare, founded by spine surgeon Steven Cyr, MD, secured investment from Kevin Harrington, entrepreneur and former panel member on ABC’s Shark Tank. The company develops products to help heal post-surgical scars as well as other skin conditions.
