1. Washington Nationals pitcher Matt Cronin had surgery to repair a herniated disc, he said in an Aug. 2 Instagram post. Mr. Cronin thanked Thomas Tolli, MD, a spine surgeon in Saint Petersburg, Fla., in his post. The pitcher said he had a herniated disc at the C5-C6 level.

2. Robert Watkins, MD, operated on Oakland Athletics pitcher Drew Rucinski, the MLB said Aug. 8. Mr. Rucinski had a spinal decompression and L5 to S1 spinal fusion and will be out for the remainder of the season.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
