Jonathan Slotkin 09 2014Jonathan Slotkin, MD (Geisinger, Danville, Pa.). Dr. Slotkin is the director of spinal surgery at Geisinger Neurosciences Institute and director of spinal cord injury research at Geisinger. Throughout his career, Dr. Slotkin has been devoted to improving care and care engineering through data analytics and dashboard creation. He is co-chairman of the operations committee for the National Neurosurgery Quality and Outcomes Database and leading efforts in mobile device technologies to improve spine care.


He has a special interest in complex spinal surgery, spinal cord injury, minimally invasive spine surgery, sports-related spine and neurological injury and nanotechnology. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Slotkin is on the scientific advisory board for InVivo Therapeutics, which has ongoing clinical studies of their spinal cord injury treatment. He has authored or co-authored several articles for peer-reviewed scientific publications on spinal cord injury repair in animal models, and in vivo quantum dot labeling of neural stem cells.


Dr. Slotkin earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. His additional training includes a spine surgery fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital.
