James Lloyd Chappuis, MD (SpineCenterAtlanta). Dr. Chappuis is founder, owner and CEO of Orthopaedic & Spine Surgery of Atlanta — shortened to SpineCenterAtlanta. He was an investigator for the "Multicenter Clinical Investigation of the Simmons Spinal Plating System for Pedicle Screw Applications" and his current research focuses on pain relief from pedicle screw removal after lumbar fusion.


Dr. Chappuis has invented several surgical products, including the Doppler Retractor and Internal Pedicle Screw Insulator Apparatus. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He also participated in a Paradigm Spine-sponsored webinar about the coflex device used for outpatient spinal procedures.


Dr. Chappuis earned his medical degree at Medical College of Ohio and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Campbell Clinic/University of Tennessee. His additional training includes the AO Spine Fellowship in Germany.
