Plas T. James, MD (Atlanta Spine Institute). Dr. James is a spine surgeon with Atlanta Spine Institute. He previously served as chief of orthopedics at West Paces Medical Center and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Board of Spine Surgery.


Dr. James has a special interest in sports medicine and treats professional and elite athletes. He served as the team physician and orthopedic spine surgeon for the former Atlanta Thrashers professional hockey team and Atlanta Falcons football team. He continues to serve as an orthopedic spine consultant for the Falcons.


Dr. James earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. His additional training includes a fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery at Harvard.
