Bell Gordon 171360 1Gordon Bell, MD (Cleveland Clinic). Dr. Bell is head of the section of spinal surgery at Cleveland Clinic, a position he's held for two decades. He has a special interest in degenerative conditions, athletic spinal injuries and spinal tumors. He joined the staff at Cleveland Clinic in 1982. 


In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Bell is involved in research and received the Volvo Award in Low Back Pain Research from the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine. He also co-edited two spine textbooks and served as associate editor for Spine. He is an associate board member of The Spine Journal. During his career, Dr. Bell held leadership positions in the North American Spine Society and served on numerous spine committees for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. 


Dr. Bell earned his medical degree at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine in Canada and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Cleveland Clinic. His additional training includes a fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania Hospital.
