Brian SubachBrian Subach, MD (Virginia Spine Institute, Reston). Dr. Subach is the president of Virginia Spine Institute, a practice he joined in 2003. He is a pioneer in new advances in spine care, including robotic-guided spine surgery. He also was on the forefront of artificial disc replacements. He is the director of research and a board member for the Spine Research Foundation, a non-profit organization.


Dr. Subach is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the Spinal Research Foundation. He played an integral role in research and FDA approval of rhBMP-2 during spinal fusions. He gained national and international recognition for his work with absorbable polymer implants in spine surgery. 


Dr. Subach graduated from the University of Michigan School of Medicine in Ann Arbor and completed a neurosurgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh. He also completed a spinal surgery fellowship at the Emory Clinic in Atlanta. He is certified by both the American Board of Neurological Surgery and American Board of Spinal Surgery.
