Wael Barsoum is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and healthcare executive who serves as President and Chief Transformation Officer of Healthcare Outcomes Performance Company (HOPCo), a national leader in musculoskeletal value-based outcomes and practice management. In this role, he oversees national expansion, enterprise strategy, and clinical transformation across HOPCo’s growing network of health system and physician practice partnerships. Before joining HOPCo in 2020, Dr. Barsoum served as CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he transformed the regional system from a single 155-bed hospital into a five-hospital, 1,083-bed tertiary and quaternary care enterprise. A specialist in adult reconstructive surgery including primary and revision hip and knee replacement, he earned his medical degree from Ohio State University and completed an orthopedic residency at Cleveland Clinic. He holds more than 50 patents for medical devices and techniques, has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, and has received the Cleveland Clinic Innovations Award ten times, including the prestigious Sones Award for Innovation.
