The University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville selected Brian Hoh, MD, as its next dean, effective Aug. 7.
Dr. Hoh has served the university for two decades and most recently was chair of the Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery and chief of medical staff at Gainesville-based UF Health Shands Hospital, according to an Aug. 3 news release from the university.
Dr. Hoh joined the school’s faculty in 2006. During his tenure as department chair, the Department of Neurosurgery became the second-highest NIH-funded neurosurgery department in the country, and UF Health Shands Hospital ranked among the nation’s top 30 hospitals for neurology and neurosurgery in U.S. News & World Report‘s “Best Hospitals” rankings.
His research has received more than 17 years of continuous NIH funding, the release said.
