Spine surgeon to know: Dr. Ravinder-Raj Bains of Oakland Medical Center

Ravinder-Raj Bains, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon currently practicing in Oakland, Calif., where he also serves as the program director of the spine surgery fellowship at the Oakland Spine Center.

Dr. Bains earned his medical degree at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles, after which he completed his residency at University of Southern California Los Angeles and his spine surgery fellowship at University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

 

As a child, Dr. Bains lived in London and the Himalayas before immigrating to the U.S. when he was 11. Dr. Bains attributes much of his passion for practicing medicine to his unique upbringing, and he strives to keep all patients involved throughout the course of their spinal treatments.
