Spine Surgeon to Know: Dr. Pierce Nunley of Spine Institute of Louisiana

Pierce Nunley, MD, is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon with board certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Board of Spine Surgery. He practices at Spine Institute of Louisiana and serves as an assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at the LSU Health Sciences Center, a position he has held since 2006.

Dr. Nunley has published several articles in professional journals and presented papers passed on his research internationally. He serves on the board of the Spine Institute of Louisiana Foundation, Musculoskeletal Institute of Louisiana and Syndicom, whose flagship product — SpineConnect — is a collaborative innovation network with spine surgeons to work together on difficult and unusual cases.

 

During his career, Dr. Nunley has served on the research fund management committee of the North American Spine Society and on the board of the American College of Spine surgery.

 

He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical College and completed his residency at LSU health Sciences Center. His additional training includes a spine fellowship at the University of Basel in Switzerland and at the Dallas Spine Group.
