Dr. Wong is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. His clinical interests include lumbar microsurgery, spinal disorders, lumbar disc replacement surgery, spinal cord injury, back injuries and spinal fusion. He is also a consultant for Rand Corporation, a global policy think tank.
“If you hear someone talking about value based care, you read that as cost containment because that’s what the whole deal is about,” said Dr. Wong in a Becker’s Spine Review article. “The proviso of the whole thing is in order to do that, you’ve got to do a number of things. You’ve got to have a system in place to measure, analyze and target down to specific elements to where you might have some influence in your system.”
Dr. Wong earned his medical degree at the University of Toronto in Canada, where he also completed his orthopedic surgery residency. He completed a spine surgery fellowship at University of Toronto Wellesley Hospital.
