Dr. Watters’s articles and book chapters have been widely published and he has lectured extensively on spine disease both nationally and internationally. He is past-president and past research council chair of NASS and is past-president of the Texas Spine Society. In addition, Dr. Watters serves on the board of directors of NASS and the American Board of Spine Surgery and he sits on the editorial advisory board for The Spine Journal and reviews for Spine and the International Journal of Spine Surgery.
Dr. Watters earned his medical degree at Boston-based Harvard Medical School and completed his orthopedic surgery and internal medicine residencies at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
