Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Timothy Witham of Johns Hopkins Medicine

Neurosurgeon Timothy Witham, MD, serves as director of the Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Neurosurgery Spinal Fusion Laboratory, director of Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center’s spine program and co-program director of the Johns Hopkins Neurosurgery Residency Program. He is also a neurological surgery and orthopedic surgery associate professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

He specializes in cervical and lumbar spine degenerative conditions as well as spinal tumors, spinal trauma and spinal deformity. His research is dedicated to enhancing aging spine surgical techniques. He has authored more than 170 articles and abstracts.

 

After earning his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Witham completed his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He completed his spinal neurosurgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins.
