He earned his medical degree at Kansas City (Mo.) University of Medicine and Biosciences
Following medical school, he completed a residency in neurosurgery at Beaumont Health in Detroit and an orthopedic spine fellowship at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Ore.
