Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Thomas Mauri of Northwell Health

Thomas Mauri, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon at Northwell Health Physician Partners Orthopaedic Institute in Great Neck, N.Y.

Dr. Mauri serves as the vice chair of orthopedics at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, N.Y., and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., where he is also the chief of spine surgery. He focuses on spinal stenosis in the neck and back, herniated discs, spinal instability and spondylolisthesis.

Dr. Mauri received his medical degree from the Albany (N.Y.) Medical College and underwent neurosurgery fellowship training at North Shore University Hospital. He also completed orthopedic spine surgery fellowship training at the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in Downey, Calif. He is a member of the North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
