Dr. Mauri is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has a professional interest in treatment of spinal stenosis in the neck and lower back, surgery for excessive spinal motion, herniated discs, spondylolisthesis and scoliosis. He is a member of the North American Spine Society, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Medical Association. He also serves as the orthopedic spine consultant for the New York Islanders.

“Leadership in spinal surgery is about bringing surgeons together toward a common goal,” says Dr. Mauri. “With the significant move of physicians to employment by large entities, it has become even more critical to gain consensus on issues that affect both employed surgeons and those in private practice. Our endeavor to control costs of operating room expenses on implants and biologics has been challenging to say the least, but we have been able to save millions of dollars that can be put back into patient care, by obtaining support from all of our spinal surgeons.”

Dr. Mauri earned his medical degree at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College and completed his residency at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York and North Shore University Hospital. He has completed a fellowship at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Downey, Calif.
