Dr. Piper focuses on degenerative spine conditions. He serves as an assistant clinical orthopedic surgery professor at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He founded St. Peters Bone & Joint Surgery, now known as Advanced Bone & Joint, in 1980.
Dr. Piper received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he serves as a faculty member for surgical spine courses .
He served as a volunteer orthopedic surgeon in Haiti for the Crudem Foundation between 1994 and 2006, performing over 300 surgeries.
A past president of the St. Louis Spine Society, Dr. Piper is a member of the AO Spine Society and North American Spine Society, among other professional organizations.
