Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Stephen Kalhorn of the Medical University of South Carolina

Stephen Kalhorn, MD, is a spine surgeon and an associate professor of neurosurgery who works for the Medical University of South Carolina-Health East Cooper Campus in Mount Pleasant.

Dr. Kalhorn treats patients with brain, spinal cord and spinal column disorders, including degenerative, infections and traumatic conditions affecting the spine and brain and spinal tumors.

 

After Dr. Kalhorn obtained his medical degree from the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University in Chicago, he completed his residency and fellowship in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery at the New York University Langone Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital, in New York.

 

Dr. Kalhorn’s research has been published in several national publications.
