Dr. Koutsoumbelis serves as the interim chief of orthopedic surgery at Oceanside, N.Y.-based South Nassau Communities Hospital. He received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown and underwent spine surgery fellowship training at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.
He has published his research in scientific journals and book chapters. He is affiliated with several New York hospitals. Dr. Koutsoumbelis is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, North American Spine Society and Scoliosis Research Society, among other professional organizations.
